    Hespe Gallery: Mimi Jensen.

Review by Kathryn Arnold: Mesmerizing imagery of non-inhabited places by Mimi Jensen. All of the attributes are here, the martini glass, the cone shaped hats, ribbons and food. An expression from traditions of Pop Art made new and fresh and gorgeous!

Comment by AB: Tabletop still-life paintings by Mimi Jensen get you thinking about larger settings and the significance of the ways she chooses to group objects. Special added bonus-- admirable homages to iconic paintings. Nicely done.

    Dolby Chadwick Gallery: Barbara Vaughn.

Review by Kathryn Arnold: The works exhibited at Dolby Chadwick are oversized photographs-- love the examination of light on water. They also bring us closer to places far away along the Adriatic and Aegean Seas. However instead of reading like a travelogue, they are abstract organic views and colors direct from the experience of being there.

Comment by AB: Hard to believe that Barbara Vaughn's striking abstract images are unretouched photographs of reflections on water... but that's exactly they are. Really good and definitely worth a visit. They're way more impactful when viewed in person.

Scott Richards Contemporary Art: Tor Archer - Out of Nature.

Comment by AB: Timeless totemic female forms by Tor Archer, beautifully patinated, some accented with acrylic paint, exquisitely "woven," often from natural forms like twigs, leaves, branches and snakes. Go see.

Sandra Lee Gallery: Surrender - Jeffrey Palladini.

Review by Kathryn Arnold: Stepping into Jeffrey Palladini's work at Sandra Lee Gallery, one is immersed in a field of figures often posed in relaxed positions, yet contrasted by implied action in others. Sharp figure/ground relationships and clean division of forms give a sense of Japanese compositional influences. An experimental video is most cool to watch.

Robert Koch Gallery: Shai Kremer - Concrete Abstract & Notes from the Edges.

Comment by AB: Large-scale photographs, most comprised of numerous overlaid images, recount the reconstruction of One World Trade Center from 2001 through 2012, both at the construction site and in the vicinity. Stop on by.
